Accessibility
We want Flossmark to work for every stitcher. This statement covers flossmark.onibaku.co.uk and the app at /app/. It was last reviewed on 2026-10-26.
What works
- Every page and app screen is tested automatically against WCAG 2.2 AA with axe-core before each release.
- The chart can be used with a keyboard alone: arrow keys move a square cursor (Shift moves ten), Space or Enter marks a stitch, plus and minus zoom, 0 fits the chart, and Ctrl+Z undoes.
- A screen reader hears the column, row and thread under the cursor, and whether it’s stitched, plus each change made with undo and highlighting.
- Thread colours always come with the thread number and name, and the chart can show the designer’s symbols instead of colours.
- Pages reflow at 400% zoom and on phone-width screens, and motion is turned off when your device asks for reduced motion.
Known limits
- A cross stitch chart is a picture at heart. Finding your place on a large chart by screen reader alone is slow, though possible with the cursor.
- The colours shown for threads come from the chart PDF and may not have strong contrast against each other. Use Symbols view or a highlighter colour that stands out for you.
